Attention Class of 2024 Musicians & Performers!

SLMP is honored to be able to provide TWO scholarships of $1,000 each to SLHS members of the Class of 2024 who plan to pursue an education in Performing Arts after high school.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is open to all seniors attending Southern Lehigh High School who have participated in one or more ensembles (band, orchestra, chorus, or musical theater) for at least two years during their high school career.

Applicants should be planning to declare a major in Performing Arts at a degree granting conservatory, college or university in the fall semester following graduation from high school.

First priority will be given to students majoring in Performing Arts – majors can be related to Music or Theater (for example: performance, education/teaching, production, publication, conducting, or composing). If there are no applicants who are majoring in Performing Arts, the scholarship will then be open to students planning to minor in Performing Arts. Students who plan to minor in Performing Arts are also encouraged to apply.

Application Process

  1. Interested students should download and complete the scholarship application.
  2. Ensure all required documents are included with the application.
  3. Submit the application and supporting materials to the scholarship committee at slmusicparents@gmail.com no later than 11:59pm EDT on 4/30/2024.

Decision Process

  • The committee will choose the scholarship recipients based on originality; grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and current and potential future contributions to the performing arts.
  • Award recipients will be notified on or before 5/15/2024.

Distribution of Funds

  • Applicant must submit documentation of their chosen school and major upon request by SLMP and prior to payment of scholarship funds.
  • SLMP will pay the scholarship funds directly to the recipient’s chosen institution and will work with the institution to ensure the funds are applied to the student education.
