ABOUT US

Southern Lehigh Music Parents (SLMP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that, in the hopes of maintaining enthusiastic interest, advocates and provides support for 4th – 12th grade music programs including Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Chorus.

MISSION STATEMENT
Southern Lehigh Music Parents is organized for the purpose of supporting the music education of students in the Southern Lehigh School District by fostering relationships among schools, parents, teachers and district community in support of the district mission.

ACOMMPLISHMENTS

  • Student College Scholarships for students entering a music or theater program as a major/minor
  • Instrument Acquisition for Students in Need
  • Staff Stipends (when needed for special programs)
  • Senior Recognition Socials, HS Awards Banquet, & Gifts
  • Year End Parties & Socials
  • MS/IS Adjudication Trips (Music in the Parks subsidized for all students)
  • MS “Fun Days” during conference week ½ days
  • Purchase of Color Guard Equipment + Expenses
  • Football Program/Band Section Printing, Editing, and Coordination
  • Instrument and Equipment Purchases
  • Assist Directors w/Special Music Events (Lehigh County Band, Song Fest, PMEA District Concerts, & Jazz Festivals)
  • Promote music programs w/ Spirit Wear and Apparel Orders
  • HS Marching Band uniform distribution, collection, fittings & alterations, and cleaning
  • Provide chaperones for trips and games
  • Assist with field shows, parades, community performances
  • Assist with concert admissions, ushering and seating
  • Friday Football Game Concession and Concert Concessions Stands
  • Band on the Run 5K Race
  • Assist in Student Fundraising for Band Trips and other Student Events
